in Sydney the stereotype is Oldd. In Sydney actually Asians (especially the Viet looking ones) can be potrayed very negatively. I would say, Viet boys with homie boy outfit will be more likely to get picked on by OZ polices than their African counterparts. Sadly, the Asian troublemakers are REALLY baddd.
Anyway, I think ignorance is not always against us, Asian Males. Sometimes total ignorance is good because it gives us a good chance to educate them. The ones who don't know enough to understand us, but know enough to convince themselves they know about Asians but actually don't, they are the hardest to crack.
I feel that Asians in where I live now have better image than in SYdney, although where i live now has got much less Asians than Sydney, thanks to Japanese tourists

Therefore, here you are more likely to be greeted "konichiwa" than "Ni hao"
