BTW, another avenue of information would be to check out what's on offer on internet sites (What's on in S'pore) - that sort of thing. Might be some cool dance parties being held on Sentosa Island, in case you're interested in that sort of thing.
The danger is that it might all turn out to be rather uptight, tedious and overly pretentious which is a real danger in Singapore. Which is why I tend to seek out tamer cultural experiences while I am there or just a basic simple experience like just hanging out in a night market or a new town or hawker centre -- and just savouring the experience of being 'home' again.
