LOL, I just spent the last half hour actually reading the damn article, crap that thing's long!!! I guess I was the only one!
Considering it was written over 18 years ago (an entire generation!), I think some things have changed, and some have not. From the standpoint of the Asian male, I think the article definitely propagates stereotypes about Asian males that I personally have not found to be true amongst myself or other friends. It's funny how articles that serve to raise awareness frequently just enforce stereotypes.
For considering it's a generation later, I think there are a lot more Asians, both male and female, who have been born and raised in the US, and thus have more "American" ideas rather than "Asian" ideas, about dating, gender equality, etc., assuming we even agree that the article is correct about what "American" vs. "Asian" ideas are (which itself is up for debate!). So given that more and more of the Asian population is shifting towards people who have grown up in the US versus immigrants, I think much of what the article is talking about no longer applies. There are a different set of issues now, don't get me wrong, but I think the issues have changed.
