I can grow facial hair, but I only do it when I either get too lazy to shave or want to be funny. All the girls I've dated preferred me to be clean shaven. I often get mistaken for being younger than I am, so when I don't shave for 2 days I do look older or at least my age. I don't have a hairy chest or back, which I'm ok with.
This picture was for my college graduation. I decided to not shave for a little bit to see my parents’ reaction. They weren't thrilled, but they were ok with it. When they left my place I shaved and went to the ceremony. They were looking for an unshaven person when I walked and they almost missed me as a result.
You look good bro...a very dignified, yet relaxed look too.
The "full beards" seem reserved to mostly Japanese (hair on the cheeks). Vietnamese/Chinese descent, like myself, typically can only grow the Fu Manchu, if we're lucky. My avatar is the result of a little over 3 months, and I'm definitely fond of it...anxiously awaiting the day when top corners meet the chin. In my experience, it's either a love or hate thing with women.
ok I seriously don't like most facial hair. Some guys can pull off a goatee or soul patch but unless you're trying to cover up something off on your face, I like it smooth.

I think facial hair on men is necessary to be a MAN....hair on body is another story....one of the most fascinating things when i date non-asian girls who have never dated asian guys before is to discover that my arms are smoother than theirs.
FOR THE MEN: If you can grow any amount of facial hair and if so, can you objectively say that it makes you look more manly and more mature. Do the women in your life like the facial hair?
I can grow a full beard and that's been the case since my college days. Now, I sometimes have to shave twice a day especially during the summer (even facial hair seems to grow more during the summer for some reason) if I'd gotten up early and if I have an important meeting late in the afternoon.
When I do grow it out a bit, my buddies think I look cool. I actually like walking around with a five o'clock or one day shadow. However, from my experiences with women be they Asian or white, they don't like it and prefer that my face is clean and smooth. I haven't read through the posts here but I'm sure you've gotten various inputs from the women also on their preferences.

I wouldn't keep any facial hair in a million years. Too much hassle when trimming becomes a daily obligation. Can't convince me of that even if someone thinks I look like a porn star in the 22nd Century with a goatee

From my expirence; women really don't like facial hair. For one it really bothers them when they rub agaisnt your face or kiss you.
Secondly, we may think we look like conan the barbarian/ghengis khan and thats SWEET! but the ladies are not in to conan like us guys are. (But this does not apply to all women because every single female out there is unique in her own tastes.)
I usually just leave my face clean because the type of women I am trying to attact does not find ghengis khan all that hot.
Besides, the samurai were a form of the military. So not so far off the track for me.
