Ultimate city of the future...

I wonder...

What if a city's economy were built upon an environmentally sustainable plan?

Such as speed trains, fast, much less dependence on cars, decreased oil dependence, infrared based motion detectors powering the office and home lights, efficient recycling program?

China, for example, is still developing and future cities could potentially be kickass if they followed this plan.

what's interesting is that China has spent so much of modern history trying to organize itself as a nation that once it squares off its odds and ends, there's no reason why the Chinese government wouldn't follow efficiency into ecological design.

some eco designers have come up with some cool stuff.

ever heard of Earth Ships(the US site is down)? i wanna get me one of those!

I watched a program on PBC not too long ago about how China is building entire new cities with recycled products, and using renewable resources.
They are building new cities so people can escape the industrial cities and cities where one third of them will otherwise die from the polluted air.
These are planned cities, with more efficient mass transit.
