It's interesting how rare it is to see a caucasian living in Hong Kong speaking the local language versus an Asian in English speaking countries speaking the local language.
I only barely speak and understand Toisanese, so I could give a rat's ass about fairly unattractive white chicks speaking Hk Cantonese gibberish.
Satisfied? You know, I really hope so because God knows you need some satisfaction in life besides shagging Captain Cardboard and I never really liked you anyway and... and you have stupid hair. Spike
the first one, the local girl, she's even got the mannerisms. I consider her more chinese than not. She definitely has that "nice hong kong girl" aura.
i seen the video before, but nice to see it again.
i would say foreigners in HK speaking cantonese isnt all that common yet but its not rare by any means. By dad seen more then a few times Indians who speak Cantonese in HK. I am sure other non-asians speak Chinese too like these Indians whose been in HK for a long time. i think u will see more and more as China's economy raises. But probably more mandarin then cantonese but maybe cantonese speaking non-chinese gets a bump too from the trickle down effect (borrowing an economic term) from all the people learning mandarin looking for more.

speaking of white people speaking chinese.. the current school im goin to right now, we have a bunch of white girls speaking chinese better than me. it almost makes me want to cry. but its hawt.
ya when i was in school no such courses in school (unless u go to specialty chinese language schools or language courses where u have to pay), my younger cousins were able to take chinese in highschool. although i always spoke Chinese fluently and best among all of my cousins. although the cousins who did take Chinese at school there writing/reading skill is much much better then me. strangely enough i started learning some Japanese in graduate school and that helped me in reading/writing in Chinese.
