For those of you who used to follow children's cartoon on Channel 2 (ABC) in your younger days, you might have come across this series named "Twins of Destiny" which was aired around the early 1990s in Australia. It was orginally a French production, and Australia and the Phillipines have since been the only 2 countries to have it translated and shown on their TV networks.

The story is set during the 1890s during the Qing Dynasty era of China. The plot is about these 'twins', a Chinese boy and an English girl (not related by blood obviously, but born on the same night in China), who were the subject of a prophecy that one day they will grow up and lead the overthrow of the Empress Dowager of Qing China. Upon learning this prophecy, the Empress Dowager sent her royal guards to locate these infants and have them killed. However, before this could happen, the twins were secretly smuggled over to France where they would spent the first 10 years of their life there. The rest of the story then goes to show their escapades and the pursuits they faced from the Chinese royal guards (who have caught up with them in France under orders to assassinate them). This was when they discovered that they both possess some form of magical power and by holding their hands together, could generate a powerful force that would sent their opponents flying back causing serious injury.
Although the 'twins' (being aware that they are not related by blood given the fact 1 is Asian and the other white) share a generic brother-sister bond while growing up together, the affections they had for each other deepened over time and went beyond that of a sibling relationship towards the end of the series.
So yeah, hope this brings y'all back some nostalgic childhood memories.....I was only 10 when I first watched it.
