Any bros/gals here whom will be in Singapore late Feb.? My ship will be there around that timeframe and it would be great if someone can show me and maybe my buddies around. 72 is a pretty cool spot but mostly expats and visitors. And the view is breathtaking. I'm betting Sentosa has some pretty cool places - but I didn't get the chance to go. If you go by the bars/restaurants by the water near the Fullerton hotel, you can't go wrong. There's a Lebanese restaurant there. Found more women than I expected (again expats) but most were together partying for someone's bday.

Clarke Quay is probably the most famous spot, with clubs, bars, restaurants, comedy clubs etc. And lots to choose from too.

And then there is of course.. for the adventurous.. what the locals call "the Four Floors of...."

Although that place will scare the average bible belter, there is a club called Ipanema. Although most are working girls, you can find others just looking to party and have a good time.

I just left there 2 weeks ago and have fond memories.

The four floors eh, been there. . . I think it's ok, but I am thinking more in terms of Singapore girls. Oh, and I don't pay for intercourse. It's against my policy.

I knew locals there who recommended Clarke Quay - so check it out if you haven't already. Although it is touristy, I did see a lot of locals and expats doing the after work thing.

IIRC, there is a bar district on Jalan Mohd Sultan. Holland Village too. I noticed a whiskey bar in a backstreet in Little India that looked refreshingly depraved.

Or a KTV hostess lounge in one of the Chinese suburbs like Hougang or Toa Payoh. Try not to get stabbed.

Check out the backstreets of Little India/Serangoon Rd. Sorry, that's the best I can do. It was a few years ago and my memory is faulty.

BTW, another avenue of information would be to check out what's on offer on internet sites (What's on in S'pore) - that sort of thing. Might be some cool dance parties being held on Sentosa Island, in case you're interested in that sort of thing.

The danger is that it might all turn out to be rather uptight, tedious and overly pretentious which is a real danger in Singapore. Which is why I tend to seek out tamer cultural experiences while I am there or just a basic simple experience like just hanging out in a night market or a new town or hawker centre -- and just savouring the experience of being 'home' again.

Ship arrives today and will be moored at Changi Naval Base. Any one here know where that is? Oh, the four floors is off limits for all US military personnel now cause some jackoff from the ships before us caused some incidents. Good thing I wasn't planning on going there. I feel bad for my shipmates though, where else are they going to spent their cash? Lol. .
