About 10 years ago I answered a personal ad by a women in San Francisco who turned out to be Russian. We sorta dated but found it better to be friends, we still call each other every few days now and she's also good friends with my gf -- I'm supposed to be the godfather of her son due in December (a role which I've yet to accept). She was looking for an Asian or white guy in her ad and received a tidal wave of Asian guys wooing her. It didn't hurt that the 2 pictures she sent out were of her in a formal evening gown and of her in booty shorts and mesh top dancing at a club. But I digress. She soon removed "Asian" from her ad since she had so many to sift through already, then came the flood of hate mail from the Asian guys -- most of which I eventually read. Note to the fellas: always represent, when you whine to someone, you are representing in a poor light.

I wouldn't be surprised if that hate mail was from other race guy(s) promoting themselves as Asian. I know women who've posted on Craig's List that they were looking for Asian men, and gotten hate mail from guys of other races who are still under the belief that Asian men are substandard.
