The anti Japanese sentiments are fed by the status quo
The status quo and the media does everything in it's power to keep hate alive between Japan and other Asian countries. That includes cowards that become america's bitches like some dick head politicians in Japan.
How many of you on this site, get ticked off just reading my other benign posts just because I'm Jpaanese? I bet more than one....Those are bombs placed by them to keep us in check. In this word of economic competition rather than military, there is nothing more threatening than united Asia to the status quo.
The bashing doesn't hurt as much as the actual cause of the hate. Tells you how powerful influence of the media really is. If the atrocities of the past is the actual issues here....there would be so much more varieties of them then just japan hating. Prpaganda is target based and is so obvious but no one cares because it is so much easier to hate than to build bridges.
Many Japanese carry daily burdens of mistreatment by other asians. I see many asians who treat me differently because of ethnicity... turn around and complain about white people...watching that makes me so sad I don't know what to say....What comes around goes around....The hate in this world has so much food.
Those who would avoid issues like this probably doesn't care that eventually, it is going to affect their lives in one way or another....
Personally I don't hate Japanese. However, I think Japan sees herself a partner with European and American countries. Japanese people think they are "Asian Europeans". That's why a lot of Asians have problems with this mentality. Japanese people need to stop this narcissism and realize Japan's future lies with partnering with Asians, not with Europeans or Americans.
Cool... another pisces Japanese guy.... I thought I was alone in that catagory..
Anyways, I pay no attention to any anti-Japanese sentiment on this forum, or in any other form of media. I think what drives alot of it simply fear. Not hate. I think that people have always feared a economically powerfull Japan, and they especially fear a militarily powerfull Japan. Who can blame them? Much of the crimes, and atrocities commited by Imperial Japan are still within living memory, with reminders of those crimes all over the asias.
Historically speaking, it always takes about 3-4 generations before any real, meaningfull healing happens between cultures after a major war. It took nearly a century before Russia finally got over losing (baldy) the Russo-Japanese war in 1904-05 where the entire Russian Baltic fleet was sunk in 2 days by a crazy-dedicated and hardcore Japanese combined fleet. In fact the Imperial Japanese battleship Mikasa, which was Admiral Togo's flagship during those two days still exists today as a war museum. And the Russians SHAT themselves when Japan announced her restoration to her 1905 battle configuration in the mid 1960s.
And no one talks about Japan's initial invasion, and occupation on the Koreas during that war, or the earlier Sino-Japanese war with China in 1894 where the Japanese military were just as guilty of atrocities as later on. However, these two conflicts are long out of living memory, and people (even historians) don't talk about it that much.
For the last 150 years, the Japanese have proven themselves experts at scaring the crap out of the entire world. What other culture can reinvent its entire society from feudalism into a modern military superpower in 30 years, where the leaders of the western world pooped thier shorts after Japan crushed the Russians at the Battle of Tsushima Straights, then reinvent itself once more in another 30 years into an economic superpower where now, Japanese companies such as Toyota are set to become the worlds largest?
We don't have any need to brag. We know we bad. When #1 starts saying that they are....the seat is in jeopardy. Look at white people. I just feel saddened because I like Chinese culture more than my own sometimes and the most graceless and crass shit I get are from chinese. That hurts. Mostly in America. The Chinese in china seem more friendly...But you are right my man. My post reflect impatience...time does it's wonders that is for sure.
Hey Tak, is that you surfin' Soquel point at night....I miss the "cruze" so much...Capitola used to be my hood....Are they still renting those shitty red boats? You can hitch a ride with fishermen on their way out and get around the corner real quick and drop off. You're right there in the thick..and if you want to get back to the pier, you just ride the waves in....A lot quicker than walking to the point....Nice fucking life, that town...
