I wish that wasn't my excuse to come post here. I just thought it was appropriate since I made a few ladies friends of Germanic descent here awhile back.
I'm beginning my language study starting September. Crazy thing is I don't know a damn thing about Germany, but I'm going to be living and studying there for a year. I remember talking with Nordic and Ratbert half a year ago about traveling to a European country. Then I thought it was just an aspiration that I'd out-grow, but it's finally going to become a reality .
Well, I better get the stereotyping out of my system before I head over there. So here it is: I want to see proud blue eyed, blonde women serving me beer!

Yawn. you can get that almost anywhere in Europe and USA and Canada.
No no, not any skanky blonde will do. She has to look like this
My whole reasons for traveling to Germany is to see this.
Lady, I'm looking at Stuttgart and Tubingen right now. It's a decision between modern city life and old cobbled roads. I'm leaning more towards city life because of the higher population. On the other hand, the university in Tubingen sounds more internationally friendly. Just curious, but where in Germany do you live?
I live nearby cologne, which is in the mid of germany, you are going to the south then.
I have heard a lot of good things about Tübingen, might be worth a visit.
I looked up Cologne online. It looks like a nice city and worth a visit.
But man, these European cities are so underpopulated compared to Tokyo with an estimated 10 million or other Asian metropolitan cities. Stuttgart has only 500,000 while Tubingen has less 100,000.
I could argue good or bad reasons living in these cities for both sides of the coin here, but I'm just saying.

Yes, indeed, german cities are smaller than american big cities or tokyo.
It's a different sociology there too.
I rather see the advantages, in less overpopulated areas there's a better chance for a safer life IMHO.
You will see something new here, that's for sure.
Let me know if you intend to visit cologne.
The cathedral there is stunning!
First time viewing that thread, as always, Nice photos lady. Here is a picture of the Cologne’s famous cathedral that always made strong impression on me. I am so glad to see it still stands so proudly there today. I am sure I will visit it one day.
