Is just me or are we having some problems logging into chat?

I push the link and it says its connecting but then the screen just stays light blue. No chat for me

Is there something I can do to fix this??

FIrst - please post in the appropriate forum or use the Help Center. The Rants, Rave forum is not the appropriate place for this question...it has been moved.

To answer your question:

The site was moved this weekend...to a new server. That's why it was offline on Sunday. The move caused the site's IP to change. If your ISP hasn't picked up the change (usually takes 24-72hrs to propogate globally) then you are still connecting to the old server. The old chat server is still running and that's why you get a partial connection. However, the user authentication piece is here and the old server can not authenticate you, thus no chat for you.

Give it a bit longer and you should be OK within a day or so at most. I assure you, the chat is just fine here. There were something like 20+ people in it at one point last night and there are people in there at the time of me typing this.

Have some patience.

Here are a few tricks to try. I can't promise they will work but you can try.

For PC Users:

Click Start Menu
Click Run
Type CMD ---> This will open a DOS prompt. Some of you probably have never seen this before.

The cursor is flashing after the prompt: type the following: ipconfig /flushdns
there is a space between the "g" and the "/"
Hit Enter

Close the CMD Window.
All the above does is clear your PC's DNS cache. I'm not explaining that but trust me...it can make a difference.

You can also accomplish the same thing as above by doing one of these alternative:

1. Reboot
2. Disable/Re-enable your network card

Lastly - clear your cookies from the browser. The Chat Client does drop some files on your PC in order to communicate, so you may have the old files which would point you to the older server.

i have done all these things and still can't get into chat and i need to chat now. i really do. you can read my blog if you need to know why.
