I think I may have confused people.
I know that in many European cities, because of a large influx of Muslim non-skilled immigrants (turkey, morocco, algeria) have fostered some stronger sentiments among the locals. I know there is a small Chinatown in Antwerp, which may/may not have fostered the same sentiments as had happened in Milan, Italy where large numbers of chinese immigrants, many of whom are illegals, have had conflicts. Frankly it doesn't suprise me, I don't really think people are really all that hateful, but when 10,000 illegal low-skilled immigrants move in next door, don't speak the language, and are ignorant of laws and customs...conflicts are bound to happen no matter where it is. Even if 10,000 Canadians moved in next door to an All-American town...shit will still happen!
As a student studying there, it is different from being an immigrant being there because I'm not dealing with the same type of people in school. However, if there are strong sentiments towards east asians in the general populace among some locals, I would like to be forewarned. I don't know if thats what you mean?
So, that aside, is there anything useful anyone could add about the actual place?
