Cor, Love A Duck!

England through to the Final!! The best team won again.

The Frogs made too many mistakes. I thought their kicking was appalling - constantly giving away possession with useless up-and-unders when they should have been kicking long. Chasers were useless or the kicks had too much on them.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned I don't think is the extra motivation that the reigning Champions have to stay in the cup. We saw it with the Aussies back in '03 where they fielded a team which was arguably even weaker than this one and still made the Final by beating NZ. I never expected the Aussies to go that far back in '03, tbh, cos they were rubbish. But they did it because they were motivated by their status and pride as champions. I think it's a factor that has also worked in favour of the English. It's what helped them come back.

I want the Argies to win SF2 but it'll be bloody interesting if it's an ENG v SAF final!!!!!!

Great game. Not pretty but who cares? Blood on the pitch is what I like to see! Didn't quite go that far but it was good and hard.

England are favourites for the title in my book. Apparently, they were 66-1 against at the start of the tournament. Christ, but wasn't that worth 5 or 10 quid for a flutter??????

erm, never in doubt we'd get to the final Fuck me, I've been sleeping off the mother of pissups since yesterday! Again not a pretty performance but it works, I'm going to have to break Toby Flood's legs or something because he's fucking useless. Forwards were good again but we'll have to step up again for SA, seeing as they've just beat the plucky Argies (shit ref). But seriously I, and many, many others, had completely written off England and out of nowhere we've reached the final against all the odds, sigh yes I should've stuck money on itFingers crossed that the momentum is with us now because by comparison our road to the final has been pretty hard compared to SA's. Apparently France were going to close off the Champes Elyses for a parade for reaching the final which was somewhat premature. Watching the Argie and SA match we have Francois Pienar as a half time pundit and they showed him during the first half and he's going mental, sweating out and swearing all over the shop and Will Greenwood commentating and he's taking the piss for 80 minutes

I groaned when I saw that the ref for the match was Steve Walsh Jr. I hate that prick - he loves being the centre of attention and, for a ref, that is a very, very bad trait to have.

I've been watching him ruin AUS v SAF games in the Tri-Nations for years. The prick loves playing to the crowd. Ugh.

Just had a peep at some of the English rugby blogs and I cannot believe that there are people who think that Cueto's 'try' should've been awarded -- it wasn't even close! He was IN TOUCH by a friggin' mile.

Boring final.

Yeesh heavy night for moi. Yeah I wouldn't have awarded the try either, obviously I didn't say that too loudly as I was watching in my rugby clubHowever it would've made a bloody interesting end to the match had it been awarded. The match had much more kicking than I've seen before shame that Robinson had to go off. I remember thinking, after Tait had fallen over and gave away an easy penalty in the first half, that Tait was so crap and then in the second half out of nowhere he comes out with a brilliant run and then plays brilliantly for the rest of the match. He had a pretty good match up with Steyn, who was awesome, decent runs by both and both getting dumped on their asses but Steyn won that contest I reckon. SA lineouts were stupidly good It did seem like Percy was getting special treatment. Habana had a quiet one. Don't want to make excuses because SA deserved to win but the ref was shit doing us for accidental offside and almost straight after Habana runs across 3 england players and the SA ball carrier

Anyways an awesome tournament overall lots of ups and downs the rise of new rugby nations and the surprise package that were the pumas.

My MOTM is.......... Peter Richards!!! He really looked the part too! Full marks for trying.

I thought Tait's run was fantastic - all the more so because it was SO unexpected! LOL

Yeah, the SAF lineouts were fucking brilliant - I expected the Aussie lineout to do something similar to England in the QF but it never materialised - our lot were probably too shellshocked from getting dusted in the scrums.

I would hand it to the Boers just for the way they improved their scrummaging to match it with the Poms in the shoving matches.
