That article is basically useless without the preceding discussion on this thread. From the first-hand experiences and commentary from the indigenous members, I've learned a lot more in this thread than all those printed accounts of the purported love that the French women have for us Asian guys. I always felt there was some reaching involved in those early stories. The surveys were hardly scientific and it seemed like little more than a desperate attempt to sell magazines. What was the name of that Asian American magazine? I remember Joan Chen had the first cover or one of the first.

The above conversation was a bit heated at times, but it was all for the good. You both made some very good points. And everyone who added their own accounts of their first-hand knowledge gave me a very good picture of how things stand over there.

So, I abandon that fantasy of being swarmed at the airport by hot French women (Carole Bouquet is among them, of course), but I cling to the hope that I may get lucky with just one.

Yes, they are very different.
South of France being closer to Spain and more agricultural.

It's funny to see some Asian men here divide themselves into Asian Americans, Asian Europeans and FOBs and insult each other. The Japanese film makers and designers allegedly propelling Japanese males to the stardom of sexiness are... sorry to remind you, Japanese. They are closer to the much maliced FOBs than Asian Americans, Asian Europeans or whatever categorization you can cough up with.

I bet most women on this forum don't give a crap about your birthplace as long as you are cultured, kind, and good looking. Drawing these arbitary lines among ourselves does nothing to help you get laid.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but there are huge cultural differences between the Asian French and the Asian Americans. It's about langage, culture, mentality, way of living, history and so on.

If you have never been outside of the USA, I guess it's something hard for you to understand. It's the same for the White people. White French are very different from White Americans or White Canadians.

The Japanese are Japanese and not FOBs. they live in their own country and they don't have anything to do with the FOBs. The facts that they are appreciated by the French women has more to do with the Japanese culture than their FOBbyness. You don't have to remind me anything. I speak Japanese and I dated a Japanese chick for two years. It's something I doubt you have done.

Concerning me being nice and good looking, I will let this appreciation to the ladies. Concerning being cultured, the day you would ever be able to speak French, German or Italian the way I do speak English, come back and see me.
