I went to Hungary and they didn't like Americans much there either, at least the taxi driver didn't like them. And Americans (I'm talking white guys cuz Asian guys don't tend to drink a lot) sing in the streets loud and drunk, and THEN get the false drunk "boldness" to holler at girls and yell at guys at night, which is really annoying even to me. I suspect that had to do with it too.
I'm interested in how the German and Swiss girls saw you as an AM. I remember one of my Asian male friends (tall guy born to Chinese parents) said he missed Switzerland, that he found it hard to get romantic with Canadian girls, compared to Swiss girls. He had no problem dating Swiss girls there and just broke up with one before he left.
Funny thing is that a Taiwanese guy said he felt the exact same thing with Taiwanese girls versus here. But I don't think we can relegate it entirely to cultural/language barrier because it's not uncommon for European girls to date foreign guys from Asia who have settled in Europe for over a year.
