Who is she? and where is she from? She looks Norwegian or Danish.

She's a "Macedonian singer/songwriter"....d'uh...

Macedonia is the southernmost country in the former Yugoslavia. It's between Serbia and Greece today. This actually also makes the Macedonians the most southern of the Slavic peoples, and probably the farthest away from Mother Russia.

They actually have to go around calling themselves the FYRM (the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) just to avoid confusion with the other Macedonia, which is a province in Greece. They have to do that all the time for the Olympics, which must be very annoying for their country.

Toronto has a surprisingly large and deep-rooted Macedonian community; we even got a couple of TV variety or news shows in Macedonian coming out of Toronto.
I'm from Ottawa, where only the East Europeans we have here are Russians, Serbians, Kosovars, and Ukrainian Jews.

If she has a "myspace" page, you should try to contact her and try to buy a CD straight off of her.
That way, presumably, the funds go to her.
