Anyone gone to Ukraine before?
I'm thinking of going to Ukraine (Odessa, Kiev, L'viv possibly)

any suggestions? I don't speak Russian so I might have a harder time than say eg, Krakow, Poland

This is a little cliche, but maybe learn a few useful phrases b4 you go. There is a small Asian population in Ukraine, both native (ie. Crimean Tatars, Asians from other ex-USSR regions), and immigrants (mostly Viets, North Koreans, and Bangalis)...if you could manage to pass yourself off as a local Asian there, it might be cool...and you can avoid "looking" too foreign.

I went to Lwow (L'viv - weird way of spelling that) once and it was, arguably, the most amazing place I travelled to.

Lwow used to be Polish, btw, so you should feel more or less like in Krakow.

I've learned some Polish, but how about in L'viv...do I need to learn more Polish or Russian or Ukraine?

Well. of course Ukrainian. However, knowing no Ukrainian and no Russian at that time I was actually able to have a fun time in Lwow speaking ONLY Polish. there were no problems at all!

Being Asian with preliminary knowledge of Polish, I guess I'm screwed :P

I'm trying to find party towns in Poland besides Krakow that have so many clubs in one central area so I can go club hopping.
