The Chinese Mexicans

Now, I've done some adventures into Mexico in the past, and a fascinating place I stayed in was Mexicali. Mexicali, at one time, was the center of a large chinese mexican population. When I was there, I picked up a book, called "Los Inmigrantes Chinos en Baja California, 1920-1937", by Catalina Velasquez Morales. It was a fascinating book, about the chinese who immigrated to Mexico, and how their lives were during that time period.
Here's a couple or resources that discuss this theme. I'll be expanding on this as I translate the book.

I actually watched a cooking documentary on the Chinese immigrants in Mexico...it was all about the cuisine. I would love to try some Chinese/Mexican fusion!

I'd love to read this book, thanks for the info. I'm assuming the book is in Spanish? I'd say that I'm about 60% in my reading and rusty.

haha, it's funny that you bring this up, Jeff is always talking about Chinese/Mexican fusion when I cook.
