Man sets wife, in-law on fire

MINUTES after dousing his wife and her mother with gasoline then setting them afire, a Valencia man ran off in an attempt to escape but was hit by a car while doing do.
He later died at hospital.
The circumstances leading to the death of Jimell Sebastian, 24, began at 10 p.m. on Sunday night at the Pineapple Road, Valencia home of his mother-in-law, Cheryl Wellington.
Police say Sebastian and his wife, Alisha Wellington, 21, were in a heated argument when Sebastian ran off, retrieved a pitcher of gasoline, poured it on both his wife and her mother, then struck a match.
Both women screamed after being set alight and Sebastian ran off.
Their neighbours, after hearing their screams, ran to their assistance and later took them to the Sangre Grande District Hospital.
Sebastian managed to reach a nearby bridge not far from his home when he was hit by a car. It is believed that one or two other cars then ran over him. A passing motorist took the young man, then still alive, to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where he died around 12 midnight.
Cpl Glasgow of the Valencia Police Station is continuing investigations.
