saw this last night. didn't like it as much as the first one.
for me, the first one was funnier because every set piece on their journey, as wacky and crazy as they were, were tied into their character. harold's desire to escape the cindy kim's of the world, kumar's need to deal with his father's pressure to go to medical school, etc. like the writers grounded it in reality, then pushed it into crazytown.
the second flim seemed disjointed and all over the place, like it was trying to be outrageous and funny simply for the sake of being a "harold and kumar" film, only it wasn't that outrageous. or maybe the "funny" wasn't as funny for me.
its just a reminder of how hard it is to make a sequel that's better than the first, i guess. the writers mentioned how they wanted to turn harold and kumar into a franchise, like national lampoon, but i wonder if there's anywhere to go from here.
sorta wish the entire thing would've taken place in amsterdam.
