The prevalence of Whiteness in the media is a definite force in the mass indoctrination of society. It is a key player in the process of Cultural Imperialism / Assimilation. Nobody here can contest to the fact that the influence of Hollywood continues to expand globally. The constant idealization of Whiteness in the media (by the media) has become the impetus for the Self-Hate (Internalized Racism) that is common in Non-White populations around the world [Note: Internalized Racism, as it pertains to women from the Philippines, is called Colonial Mentality]. These unnatural mentalities are subconscious idolizations for Whiteness and serve to solidify White Privilege. Most self-haters are not even aware that they are self-hating. Internalized racism occurs when people targeted by racism are, against their will, coerced and pressured to agree with the distortions of racism. Each of us targeted by racism fights, from childhood on, as long and as hard as we dare, to maintain a sense of ourselves as good, smart, strong, important, and powerful. However, in our societies, racist attitudes are so harsh, so pervasive, and so damaging that each of us is forced at times to turn racism in upon ourselves and seemingly agree with some of the conditioning, internalizing the messages of racism. We come to mistreat ourselves and other members of our group in the same ways that we have been mistreated as the targets of racism.
