The problem is that Asian people have "let it go" for far too long, and this is why we are in this particular situation now. There are some people who are fine with the status quo and porch monkey status, then there are those who refuse to be second class citizens and are working on empowering the Asian American community. Every single incident of this kind needs to be called out and condemned otherwise nothing will change for the better, and in fact will keep getting worse. If you are fine with everything, then all the more power to you, but don't stand in the way of those who want to make a change for the better.
PS. Obviously my fiscal and mathematical analogy with the "just another movie" mentality hasn't sunk in.
"Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions. -Albert Einstein"
All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.
I live a good life yes, and I use my background as an asian(Japanese Bilingual translator) to do what I want to do in life. I'm sorry you're still bitter- you remind me of my black friend that has so much hate for the white race, but yet never experienced the days of REAL segregation. Don't ever forget that it wasn't YOU who paved your way to get here.
I do not respond to ad hominem attacks nor criticisms. Your personal assumptions are both offensive and inaccurate. Nobody has said anything about hating a race. You merely assumed so. You have no idea what other people have faced and yet you are willing to make presumptions. As I said before, if you are happy with your situation then all the more power to you, but please end this discussion and don't stand in the way of people who want to make a difference. As well, you have addressed none of the points that I have brought up, so it seems that further discussion is futile.

"Assumption is the mother of all Fuck Ups" and you should apply that to your daily life. We are on a public domain in an open forum to discussion so NO I'm not going to stand down to your ramblings I find biased. And yes, this is OBVIOUSLY a racial issue if you find it questionable that a "white" male plays a significant part in this movie, but have no qualms if it's an asian character instead.
If you want to cry about injustices, that's your prerogative. But just know that no one is going to sit back and think you're automatically right. Just by reading your post I feel an arrogance about you. If you want to have an affirmative action like attitude, why don't you start a revolution.
It doesn't matter who you are in life- there's always going to be prejudices and races not being depicted correctly. Your whining is over a movie. That's the comical part about this whole issue. I cannot take you seriously simply for this reason.

OK, I'll respond. The movie is about an old Asian fable that has NO white men in it. The story is about Asian people. What part of that do you not understand? There are MANY movies with Asian men in them that are being replaced by WHITE men. What part of that do you not understand? Should we now cry injustice because white men feel disenfranchised because they aren't the leading characters in every single movie?
Just because there is always prejudice and injustice, does that mean you should just roll over and take it?
Secondly, I don't care what you sense because as I tried to politely state before, you just seem to enjoy pulling things out of your ass. You've offered absolutely nothing to this discussion other than its just another movie, get over it.
No one has to automatically think I'm right because I'm letting my arguments stand on their own merits, not on what people may or may not think of me. My so called "ramblings" offer points of discussion. You offer nothing what is now becoming apparently an uninformed and uneducated opinion. How are my "ramblings" biased?
If you want to have a serious discussion then why don't you address the points I've presented or come up with your own?
If not please then SHUT THE FUCK UP. Nobody here is interested in your clueless opinions. We've all heard these comments before, "its just a movie", "can't you take a joke?", "I have a chinese friend, and he or she wasn't offended", "you are playing the race card" etc etc. That doesn't go over so well.
Just for your information, this whole thread is about a movie. If you can't take this discussion seriously because its just about a movie, then why don't you leave it? Having said your piece, that "its just a movie" you have absolutely nothing to contribute to this thread.
You are a complete moron to say the least, no wonder you feel like you don't have a grip on life. It's okay to feel inferior I'm okay with that. I honestly feel like the story should be about a monkey on your back.
Oh back to why I think you're a complete moron. The story IS about a kung fu crazed white male. This is what the "MOVIE" is about, and I'm more than sorry that you're too stupid to see this. I actually feel sorry that you keep typing.
Oh by the way- you say that no one here is interested in my clueless opinions....but why do you keep reading them and responding? You're like a monkey, very predictable!

I keep reading them because I felt sorry for you and was actually trying to help educate you. Now I see that you are just another troll trying to tell Asians to just "get over it". I was going to just ignore you initially, but I thought I should at least give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you weren't a troll.
Your argument that the movie is about a white guy is nonsense. The movie is about an Asian story with no white guys in it. The whole point I was trying to make was they added a white guy storyline into it because they felt the story would somehow be deficient with only Asian people in it.
