As for reading 'comments' you folks can do so at your own peril. I don't even bother. Most of you should already know that most online psychos and losers with no life hang out there, or they just simply gravitate towards any site that has a 'leave comment' or 'reply' button. They think "omg, a reply button! Time to be a hero and stop being a zero!" *dons a cape and frantically types a hateful reply*
This is the best comment ever on online haters!
The article was titled "Opening the box" and did it's title all honor.
What do you want more, people?
The haters are the loud ones, but some of the more silently born reactions on the article may be more lasting ones.
It ain't sad! It's a sign of the times! Think about it! Which would you rather be,
Controversial but seen?
Or harmless, forgotten and pushed to the side?
Take your pick! The fact that the article generates such strong emotional reactions means one thing, and it's that asian men are breaking out! The genie's out of the bottle, baby, and it can't be put back in, no matter how many people try to insult, degrade, and hate.
Cause all that negative trash is simply a sign that they (the haters) can't do jack about it, other than talk a lot of smack.
Woot!
Right. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." (Mahamta Gandhi)
Way better to be at the "fight" stage than the "ignore" stage.
"According to the U.S. Census' 2006 update, 19.5 percent of Asian American women outmarry, compared with 7.2 percent of Asian American men. And that, to some, speaks volumes about the sexual desirability and social status of Asian men in America."
You know, it's dangerous and easy to draw conclusions when one looks at statistics. Especially official statistics, since they impart an air of objectivity. In my opinion though, statistics are a too-simplistic means of summarizing complex issues. Take the above for example. Sure, arithmetically speaking, you could draw the conclusion that almost 3 times as many asian women outmarry as asian men. True. Does that mean it's because asian men are that much more less desirable? False.
That 19.5 is a result of everyone and their dog wanting an asian girl. Including Asian men. Also consider that in this country more than half of all marriages wind up in divorce in the first year. And that in this day and age, it's still the man proposing. There's just so many factors to consider, even mail order brides!
All this is to say, is that the only thing that statistic tells me is that more non-asian guys are seeking asian women for marriage than asian men seeking non-asian women for marriage.
Great article. I smiled as I saw several personal friends mentioned and quoted in the article. There will always be negative comments from people who fear the unknown. As Lilah said, its so much easier to make a negative comment than a postive one (for most people...so sad for them). In the end all that matters is that Jeff helped to show many others the way to Aznlover and to open the eyes of some people who do not realize we are well past the age of segregation. Love/befriend/hate whom you will. I am happy CD pointed me here several years ago and am happy that more people will find this place due to the article.
Oh boy and you needed an article to tell you that, you are niave. LOL my goodness let all of the asian men know white girls like asian men so all of the asian men can go out and celebrate LOL hilarious
