Hey! I wonder if you fellow Torontonians can help me with this. Sometimes I would like to go out and enjoy a cafe atmosphere and maybe even patios and such alone or with a friend. The problem is that I don't know where to go. Do you have suggestions? I know that there are restaurant search sites, but I'd rather hear people's personal experiences of places.

The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar use to be one of my favorite hang outs...
it's located on queen st. west... just west of University Ave.



Rivoli is another favorite of mine.. I took sushirama there when she visited...
A live venue nightclub hosting musicians and comics. A stylish pool hall upstairs. Out front, the best people-watching patio in the city.

The crooked Cue... use to be my hang out on the west side of Toronto... Located just west of the Royal York subway station... it may not be what your looking for... but it's a really nice place to relax and talk over a game of pool... okay I haven't been in 8 years tho... lol...

I enjoy many of the patios out on Queen St west, such as Java House. On the Esplanade there are also a few restaurants with patios such as Spaghetti Factory, the Organ Grinder etc. Also, King St W just east of Spadina has many patios that are very nice.

I went to Yorkville tonight with a friend and her friends. We went to Hemingway's and Amber. The latter especially was a bit more upscale place. I loved the patios
