AznLover North AmericaDiscussions about living, working, studying, visiting, or playing in the U.S. and Canada.
I have read on here that white girls supposedly dislike asian guys in the states. I'm currently in Calgary but thinking of either living in British Columbia, Ontario, Montreal, or California, but I can't decide. I like warm climates so that's why I'm deeply considering Cali or Vancouver. I haven't had much chance to travel around, so thanks for your input. Here's what I think of them so far, not sure if it's accurate:
B.C.:
Pros: Good place to live, relatively warm, Asian friendly, Good scenery
Cons: Expensive to live, rain gets people down?, and personally I would rather live away from Vancouver because I have some extended family there and I think I would get quite anxious always having those dinners with them every other week since my Chinese vocabulary isn't that great, but it seems like the only real city in BC.
Ontario:
Pros: Good place to live, Asian friendly, Very multicultural
Cons: Cold weather, People are too career oriented and not laid back
Montreal:
Pros: Good place to live, Culture, Great Nightlife, Good looking women
Cons: Would need to learn French, Cold Weather
California:
Pros: Great weather, Good looking women, Fun, Lots of Different ethnicities
Cons: Expensive to live? Racism, and Asians not respected?
Australia:
Pros: Good place to live, Good weather
Cons: Racism against Asians? Too far away?
California is expensive, but I don't see the racism or lack of respect for Asians that you mention. Some white girls in the US like Asian guys, and some aren't interested.... same as any place else.

I dunno, I respect myself. Asides from Hawaii, I don't think there's anywhere else outside of Asia where you will find more Asians in all roles of society, senators, mayors, police chiefs, business leaders, well known designers (ahem!), movers and shakers, even homeless folks.

Yup yup, CA is probably the only state in the mainland that has so many asian am activists and in other roles of society.
