Toronto- I hated this city. White Canadians in this city are worse than Asian females- they are confused about their identity and want to be quasi Americans so bad.
Vancouver- Great city for asian men. Totally loved it.
New York- horrible racism here. Uphill battle for any asian american. Unless you dress like a complete artsy fool goth eccentric individualistic *%^#@*, there isn't much room for you.
Seattle- I liked it.
Chicago- feeling great- I love this city.
Varies from city to city rather than a country as a whole.
I don't really have an opinion about this, as I am not an AM. According to what I have seen, Asian men seem to have it pretty well here. Toronto is a mosaic of races and ethnicities, and if you frown every time you see a person not your race, you would have to frown all the time No time for that! Not here! And better so
I live in Toronto, but I don't generally get looks from beautiful women. I wear glasses.
Mind you, when I was in high school or university, I wouldn't get looks either, but as soon as I removed my glasses, the hottest girls in my class, white and Asian would keep checking me out.
If it's not looks, I have to bring out an energetic personality to get attention, and even then it has to be a very strong aura before I can get white girls to take notice.
I still feel that even in Canada, there's American influence filtered down to us, even if it's watered down.
When it comes to job, I can feel the barrier. I'm generally very strong in terms of my instincts, so I generally can feel how people feel about me.

As a side, it also could be the glasses; the frames that is. I had a cute optician girl make my selection and have gotten many compminents. Recently one close AF told me the glasses defintitely boost my kool level.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, I truly believe asians have it better in Canada. Before the internet, around here, no one would've thought asians have it bad. Hell it was a surprise to me when i heard about you poor asian saps. Social circles are totally diverse allowing for potential hookups. You just gotta see for yourself, we got it good.

I'm really curious about your take on Chicago, particularly in comparing it with cities that have much larger Asian communities. I was there for a week last year and was struck by how small the Asian population seemed to be. Even the Chinatown seemed really depressing compared to other thriving North American chinatowns.
In discussing this with the couple we were visiting, they mentioned that it was jarring for them when they first moved there a year previous. My friends are a couple from an eastern European background who lived in Toronto five years prior to moving to Chicago. In downtown Toronto, they were more accustomed to interacting with many more Asians on a daily basis, but in Chicago there seemed to be a much larger African American population within the urban community.
That is not to say that population density can necessarily co-relate with how well an ethnicity is received in a community, but it certainly impacts on the level of cross cultural interaction and cross-polination.
