When I was living in Toronto, I remember this one girl I was working with. She bought everything, all of her groceries online and had them delivered to her front door. Apparently it was a pretty good system, even the fruit she bought was supposedly fresh.

If you need juice so bad and it's the commute that bothers you, you could consider that? Instead of drinking it powdered...

That's why a good sized sturdy knapsack is handy. You can put the heavier stuff in it and days when you don't have a lot to put in the bag, you can still also put your hands in your pockets!

Sugar free fruit concentrates? Isn't that oxymoronic, considering that its sugars that give juice its sweetness, and without it the manufacturers would probably be adding aspartame or acesulfame-k and other additives that cause all sorts of strange bodily effects?

Or do you mean sucrose free fruit juice, or fruit juice without high fructose corn syrup?

Industrially raffinated sugar isn't exactly healthy... The best drink is water, but if I have to choose between sugar that gives people obesity, greater risk of getting a diabetes and stings in energy level, and aspartame, I choose the latter. Not that I would take huge amounts of it as it is not exactly pure vitamines, but when I fancy something else than water... Now that I am in North America, there are less choices for having non-sugary groceries and I have to choose carefully what I have.

Two good natural flavor-givers are berries and lemon juice. Cassis juice is really yummy and rich in vitamin. I have some in my fridge now! But it does have that devilish sugar... Hmm. Better not have too much of it...

Some things that North America wouldn't need, IMO:

*sugary ice cream cones
*the big pop mugs in McD's
*KFC

But I have to give props for having huge and cheap salad boxes in grocery stores. Finns would KILL for getting 5 litres of organic salad for 5 dollars like we do here in Canada. Canadians have all the means for eating healthy and delicious food here... But going to McD's is still so easy for many

P.S. I still have never been to KFC.

if they have a "trader joe's" in canada, that supermarket for sure would have organic stuff.
