Nope, but any of those Taste events are really awesome. Have been to one in Atlanta and Miami and they had the best chefs come out and let us sample their food. DELISH. I imagine that Chicago's would be great too. I miss ORD...I wanna go back there again soon.
how was it? the experience? anything in particular that was memorial or would recommend? heard its the biggest festival in the states so...overwhelming?
1. It can get very crowded (so if you don't like crowds, it's not for you - unless you go during a less busy time - during the weekday).
2. The different food vendors are a hit and miss (read the Chicago Tribune before you go - they usually have a review of the food choices).
3. They have a no. of music acts on various stages throught the 1-1/2 weeks of the Taste, including some well-known bands on or around the 4th (check for the bands and dates).
If you really like live music, many people prefer the Blues Fest which is a few weeks before the Taste.
All in all - if you don't mind crowds (and waiting in line to try the various cuisines/beverages) - it can be really fun if you go w/ a group of friends and you end up listening to some good live music.
I am from Chicago and believe me when I say the food is awesome. So many different types of food to choose from. Yes it is a big crowd, but it is worth the trip. Its so much fun.
Chicago in general is a cool place. Some cities rock, but Chicago hums. I'm thinking about attending the annual bluesfest again. However, this event sounds just as good. Can someone post a link to the music lineup for the taste of chicago?
I was there about 10 years ago and I second what Je Suis said. The food and music are awesome, but it is very crowded. I would suggest having a plan before you go about which vendors you are going to visit, it should make for an easier time of it. Report back how it goes. It's in July, right?

love crowds, well not as much as i use to, but still do. however, having an itinerary and crowds, is not good combination for me. yeh i guess thats the usual about vendors being hit or miss. hate doing research though.
