What happens to that bond and that love when a couple get together based on in large part that primal drive for fertility and procreation only to realise that this most basic of their desires was not being fulfilled?
well thats the stuff that can end a relation.

Vera Farmiga was in The Departed - the woman caught between Leonardo DiCaprio & Matt Damon. She grew up in a sheltered Ukranian-American household; didn't even learn to speak English until reaching her teens, I hear.
Yes, it's a thread from last month, but I only got here just the other day on the sfgate boat. So your remnants are sparkly new to me. Consider me a refugee rummaging through your old threads.
Back to the thread. Did anyone go to the screening during the Asian American Film Festival? I was a fan of Vera Farmiga since "Roar." She so fine. How could I not go? I went to the screening at Berkeley attended by the director. I confess, I didn't stay for the director's Q&A. When she pronounced the title of her own movie "nebber forebber," I skeedaddled to get me a Top Dog.
Reading some of the laymen reviews on IMDB made we want to similarly cringe. And laugh. Something about the incorrect pluralization of the word "sperm" makes me want to go "eww."
I really wanted to like this movie-- but sadly it sucked.
I was so looking forward to it, but beyond disappointing-- from Vera Farmiga's permanent "deer in the headlights" expression, to the bad music, to the stilted dialogue, to the sex scenes which were not that hot. Gina Kim is no Marguerite Duras, that's all I can say.
I wanted to see this movie but never got around to it. Vera Farmiga is beautiful but why couldn't she keep her hair like she did in the Departed. It looks really bad in this movie.
I saw it, and I liked it although I think that, objectively speaking, it's not that good. The sex scenes totally weren't hot (they were so awkward and silent), but at least the guy playing Jihah was.
All-in-all good plot, okay execution and lame ending.
