Simply look at the origins of the Southern whites in the US and the convict descendants in Australia.
Then you should know why the Romans never bothered to conquer that little island off the western fringe of Europe. The Celts are uncivilizable to them, but the absurd thing is in front of non-whites they think they are on par with the Greeks, Romans, and other Europeans, part of the civilized crowds.
With the first part of your post, exactly what are you implying? As someone whose family came from Ireland not many generations ago, and who was born and raised in the south of the US, I would really like to know just what it is you are saying about me here.
And with the ending, are you implying that Irish people are sub-par? You said "they think they're on par with the Greeks, Romans, and other Europeans, part of the civilized crowd." This sure sounds a whole lot like an implication of sub-par status, and I would just like to know who the hell you are, or anyone else is, to make such an implication. Now, yes, admittedly, I say this because I have close ties in this regard, and for that reason I WILL NOT sit idly by and watch you people slander what I believe to be the greatest country in the whole world.
You know, if I came in here after spending two days in one city in China (just for example) and said "Man, China sure is a piece of shit. Don't waste your time and money on this dump. Everything and everybody here sucks." you can bet your ass that I'd get ripped a new one by every single person here, and I know that if I came in here and did something like that, I would fully DESERVE any new one I was ripped in response. SO, taking this into account, what the hell gives certain individuals in this thread the right to do that very thing when regarding Ireland? I take GREAT offence to it, and I seriously hope I am not the only one. This is a GROSS double standard, and I, for one, won't have it.

So if we're talking about what somebody experienced in Cork or Wexford, we're talking about Eire, let's be clear on that.
From my point of view the differences couldn't be more profound. I had an irish girlfriend who came from Dublin 3 years ago, and I'm pretty sure I could fall in love with another one in my life without hesitation. ALL my vietnamese-french friends who went there had a great time as well. The irish who come to France are very tolerant and talkative, always ready to engage conversation in a pub. I admit I have personally not been there myself yet but im pretty sure to find the kinda warm people I have in mind if I ever do.
Now my experience with northern irish people contrasts sharply with Ive just said about people from Eire even though it wasn't about girls that time.
Admittedly, Im very biased. I would just like non-europeans to know the great difference there is between Eire and northern Ireland.
Funny enuff, some folks in here experienced the exact opposite of what I did. Thats interesting. But I still believe that catholic people are way more festive and open than protestant ones in Ireland.
OK, Thank you. Someone besides me is pointing out that Northern Ireland (aka Tuaisceart Éireann) is a distinctly different country than the Republic of Ireland (aka Éire). Seriously, they are NOT one and the same. They're about as similar as apples and oranges, and in fact, I even mentioned in my first post in this thread that Ireland is NOT a part of the UK. Maybe now that more than one person substantiates this, people will actually get it that these are two completely different nations. However, I won't go into what I think of that fact. Afterall, this is not a thread about our political leanings.
And yes, the Catholics are far more fun than the Protestants.

LOL
Gee, how did I know that this retarded monkey would make an appearance in this thread sooner rather than later? Simple, because this is the only topic that he ever posts on. He's so predictable.
And the reasons for his fixation are fairly obvious: he went to school in Australia where he was picked on every lunch break by kids named 'Sean' or 'Kyle' or 'Patrick' where they shoved his head down the toilet bowl and pulled the chain or beat him up for his lunch money.
Now he's back in Hong Kong and guess what? The managers bossing him around are gweilos. So he has to come here to vent.
Holy shit people, I ain't talking about how much fun you had at a bar with your buddies in Ireland. I am pretty sure anyone can have a blast at Irish pubs. That's a completely different story. You come over here walk around the city, interact with the locals, get on the bus, go into shops, restaurants, try to make some conversation with people just to feel the atmosphere. I've done so. Again, I am here as a solo traveler, a foreigner specifically and I do behave myself in my best. I do not have any relatives or friends that will cuddle with me and show me some good times. If that was your experience and bragging about how much good time you had, take your trash to somewhere else. I am pretty sure there are nice and friendly people in Dublin. But so far overall atmosphere here is very negative and depressing. They can't even say hi, how are you, thank you, please, with ease and they can't even look at me in the eyes. Everything here seems to be direct and cold. Everyone here looks angry somehow and they emit this very negative energy. I can't describe it but I feel it strongly. Fuck the myth please, if Irish people are the most friendly and the warmest people on the planet, my folks in Seattle must be some sort of angels. From my experience in comparison with other Euro areas, Ireland is by far "the worst" country I've ever visited the Irish people are the most unfriendly and unmannered people I've ever meet. And what's up with the those young Irish folks on the bus sitting comfortably in the chairs while those elders are standing around...
based on the opinions you've formed from ONE girlfriend, friends who've gone there and done the tourist thing and probably stayed in nice hotels for a short while, and from Irish tourists who go to Franc
Well actually the girlfriend bit itself was enuff to make me think great of the irish. So YES, I was bewitched. Don't give me the evil eye !!!! :- )
More seriously, the irish I met In France were not only tourists, but also students & workers who stayed for a year or more. It's so easy to talk to them compared to french people.
Also, A lot of young french go to Ireland because it's easy to find a job. Trust me, the asian-french I know who went there didn't regret it. Apparently, a lot of irish respect the asians who live there, & I dare say they take less shit than the nigerians or poles.
However I concede that it is highly possible that an Asian from France, America or Germany will be a bit more respected than an Asian from Asia.
Yes a lot of French people work here in Dublin. I have seen many working here at shops. But still, I don't understand why the heck they would leave France for Ireland. Did I mention how much I love Paris. Yes, I've met many Irish people when I was in France. They are very nice.
friend of mine in Univeristy did an exchange to Ireland (not Northern Ireland). My friend was Canadian of Scottish descent (but not at all scottish sounding). He said that he went to a bar, and for no reason when he left some dood started a fight with him and socked him in the face.
Nordic-kulta, Pidän sinusta oikein paljon. Kiinalaisten ja suomalaisten lapsista tulee kauniita!
I met a Lithuanian guy in Sweden once, and he said Polish girls were the best out of all Europe he has been. So i guess that is co-oberating evidence...

Last I heard, Ireland (again not Northern Ireland), was going through an economic boom.
