To be fair, "orientals" ,as they're called over there, are a small proportion of the UK media, and apart from a few chinese/american movies you don't really get to see that many on TV (this month saw the launch of a TV program where the guy is Chinese and young and hot, but that's a 1st) and also you need to take into account the poll was voted by a particular section of the viewing public, probably mainly white, middle class between 25-45, so for example you have few youth icons, but some cool/intello ones like woody allen, serge Gainsbourg...
They have otherwise a decent selection, with some french, italian, irish, asians (i.e "indians" for you a large population in the UK), blacks (interestingly non-british though), and a good mix of brains and good looks and ages/eras.
Not that bad.
it would be unrealistic to expect such a poll to include an asian male: who would it be? Chow yun fat? Bruce Lee? Jet li? that'd be the extend of the selection of known asian males for the voters on there.
even asian males in TV serials like Lost, Law and Order, heroes etc... may not be watched by that age group much.
so you have to take that into account, that's all. It's a shame, but understandable.
