I'm going out with a girl tomorrow for our first date, she's from the countryside and likes to get out of London for some fresh air from time to time and I like that too. Therefore I was thinking of asking her to go on a day trip to Hever Castle or somewhere near London.
So, the question is, would it be inappropriate/too fast to ask her to go on a day trip on our first date? She's a friend of a friend, I don't know her that well but I really like her so definitely don't want to scare her away, but I'd love to spend more time with her and get to know her more, not to mention that we need to take advantage of every sunny day in this country.
That sounds more like a second date (or later date). I'd stick closer to home on the first date esp since you don't know her all that well. The first date should be one where you can top it easily for the 2nd date as well.
Yea, for a first date, keep it as simple as possible...too much might scare her away. It's nice to see you have put some thought into it though, kudos and good luck on your date
sorry if i haven't made it clear, the dinner tomorrow would be the first date... was wondering whether i should ask her to go to hever castle during dinner or is it still to quick...
Dude, think of baby steps. Don't rush into it. Lets see how your dinner date turns out first. If I were you, I would do a few dinner and movie dates before taking her to a day-long trip. By that time, she knows you better and maybe she feels more comfortable to be alone with for that long. If you ask her tomorrow, she maybe incline to say no. How would you feel then?
I don't really think that it's a bad idea. Depends on how you ask though. But I think its a great opportunity to get to know each other in a more real way.
Besides If it's something you both enjoy , it might bring you closer and more comfortable with each other.
The way you could ask her matters though. Maybe bring up the subject, say that you like to get out of the city . If she remains silent about it don't ask her to the trip but if she continues talking about the subject a little into the conversation you can ask her if she would enjoy comming along ( just don't say that you would go just cuz she wants to) if she says she's bz or something , make sure she knows youre going anyway( don't say it in a rude way) say something like " aww it's a shame , maybe next time" . Don't make it sound like a date but rather something you're happy that you both enjoy , and it's only right to ask her to come along . That's the vibe you're looking for .

I have to agree with this approach. It is a good way to introduce the topic without having a lot of room for rejection. I personally would not bring it up until closer to the end of the date so that you have a good idea of how things are going. You dont want to bring it up in the begining of the date incase she says yes and you find out halfway through dinner that you cant stand this woman's company another five minutes lol. (it has been known to happen)

Thanks everyone. Dinner went well and I decided to take it slow, she's got plans for the weekend anyway so I might as well mention it next time.
We went to a restaurant in Chelsea Harbour with the Themes not too far away, sat outside & enjoyed the nice weather, lovely environment with live piano in the background, almost feel a bit too peaceful to talk though. We had a nice time there and went for a walk along the river afterwards, didn't mention anything sensitive, almost felt I was taking it too slowly...
