Is (knife) crime really that bad in the UK or is it the media overblowing it?
I noticed a lot of news from UK news sites that crime, usually knife crime and usually by youth (teens and early 20 somethings) has skyrocketed.

Is it just the media reporting it as often as they hear of it (eg The Sun, one of the more "aggressive" ones), or is it really that bad?

Yes it is. Friends and family of mine, which live full time in the UK, when we catch up, tell me all the time how bad crime is getting and not just with knives, gun crime is also becoming more and more!

It is an unfortunate reminder that no law manmade can ever prevent violent intent. You can remove those tools which can be used by criminals (guns, knives throwing stars, etc.) from the honorable and law abiding general population, but those intent on committing violent crimes don't abide by the same rules.

its not everywhere in the uk....

mostly it is the cities where gun and knife crime is rising!!

am not saying that where i am is free of crime but we dnt really have knife or gun crime here.

look at the rest of world, is anywhere free of this sort of crime?!

The Media always make more of it because they want to sell papers...
