Probably, what Britain lacks most is a population policy, rather than an immigration policy. This country is far too small in its size and its infrastructures far too outdated and neglected to have so many immigrants coming in annually. Even Japan is 50% larger than the British Isle.
I am an immigrant myself and I will never give up my Japanese passport. I am here to study, work and live according to the British law as many other immigrants do. However, I just wonder how those Pakistani chavs who have tried to steal my motorbike so many times and rightfully got beaten to pulp at the end have managed to come to this country in the first place. I believe Brits have every right to select what kind of immigrants they want and they should be a touch more careful to do so.
Lastly, if the press is whining about the E.Europeans (and those dirty Polish and Lithuanian thieves who don't speak any English, to make matters worse) why don't they whine about the Indians, Pakistanis, Turks, Malays, Chinese etc? Because they are potentially more dangerous???

The reason is called "political correctness". White British can criticise Pakistani and Carribean people only when it is strictly off the record or everyone is totally drunk (you don't want another Oldham Riot, do you!?). Besides, we do not hear much about, say, the Chinese, Malays or Indians commiting crimes.
Another factor is that White minorities, such as the Irish or Poles, have no large human right organisations speaking for them. It gives the media free hands to bash Eastern Europeans.
Why do pakistanis & east indians immigrants unable to assimilate into British society? TV documentaries often show them living in same ghettos when their parents came here long time ago. I think the white british strongly dislike them for unable to adapt to european lifestyle and social customs. The british definitely don't want their country become an islamic state due to prolific birth rate of muslim population in the country. This sentiment is shared by many other european countries.
UK shouldn't have let them into the country in the first place. Then the problem wouldn't have grown to this proportion today. France is taking measures to expel muslim population. The French citizens despises muslim population that they forbid any gov't branch from hiring muslims. France is a country that has very strong potential to explode into social, political unrest in near future.

Yeah, the UK should filter out the riff-raff a little bit more...otherwise its just creating a dangerous population.
