^ That's happening in many countries around the world. Some countries try to arrest the population decline by increasing immigration. That's what we're doing in the West, btw, paying taxes and breeding more little taxpayers for the future so that there will be someone around to help pay for Baby Boomer's lavish retirement arrangements.

I just see less and lesser kindergarten places and such here ... why should I breed kids if I can't get the proper care for them and am also forced to work full time these days so I can't care for them by myself?
Why marrying if I get replaced after 20 years with a younger model?
Why being a house wife when only money earning people are counted into society and are respected?
That's why many women don't marry and have kids anymore, too risky in that modern success obsessed world and why making more kids if so many starve these days?
I am all for more immigrants!

(OK, my post is only partly true for myself, I am indeed a dreamer and still wish to have a family once, still planning on how to cope with two full time jobs then though.... UGH, I might as well overthink it again.)

It is bad the marriage rate drop quickly in many countries. there is a major problem marriage institution. It is being attacked by special interest groups with selfish agenda ; and it isn't defended by the government at all.

I strongly support a marriage institution between man & woman. I oppose to any other interpretations of it. Government must do more to make marriage less a obstacle for young people through legislations.

I am for marrying too but the politicians better keep out of it IMHO.
It's in the end a private thing mainly.
There are reasons in the modern life why it isn't all that easy anymore.

As a person who wished to be married but actually got one divorce already I can only speak from my own experiences here, some people are living in wonderland nowadays.
Like my ex who would waste money until I couldn't live with him anymore, I later was and still am BANKRUPT.
One day I decided to let him go because I just couldn't figure out a way to remind him on common responsibilities and avoid that he would spend our very last money for silly stuff we couldn't eat (CDs, technical devices, some we never used, no joke).
It is indeed hard to find a responsible person who isn't out for the quick fun nowadays.
It's true, marriage is no ever-happy-hollywood-flic.
Both peole have to carry some of the burdens of life, otherwise it won't work, but modern people are sometimes too spoiled and unrealistic for that.

Dont forget the UK is one of the most exspensive places to live its about 96pence per petrol litre, a grand for council tax, then 26-40% tax on your income the list goes on. And ever since Spice Girls came out. The female population wants a career first before getting married and settling down with kids.

Most couples in the UK now'a'days ( this is my opinion btw and not fact ) wait until they're in there late 20's to get married.
