Working in a busy restaurant with lots of servers is a whole 'nother ballgame. When I've waitressed/cocktailed before, it was either in a small family-owned neighborhood Mexican restaurant, or in nightclubs. You would think nightclubs would be the place for hijinks, but it was usually just a bunch of girls working to make money, and who were serious about it. The restaurant I'm at now has several servers on each shift, and everyone is very flirty with each other. The kitchen staff with the wait staff, the bussers with the wait staff, the hostesses with anything that moves.
During slow moments yesterday, it was amusing to me to stand back and watch all the hormones flying around. There is a young high school kid expediter who has an amazing body, and one of the female managers who is in her mid-thirties was massaging his back in a way that made me a little uncomfortable to be near, and later the same guy was being fed flan by two female servers. I try to take care of the cooks, so I make sure they have cold water to drink. I asked a new guy cooking there if he needed a drink, and he said "Yeah a drink of you!" It was funny, and I wasn't offended, but as I was getting his Cherry Coke, I thought about how in an office or retail environment, that response would not be OK. In the kitchen, guys and girls are talking about their sex lives, the big tits at table 61, the fine-ass papi chulo standing at the bar, we're smacking each other's asses with linen napkins, we're stepping on each other's toes and then apologizing later with unnecessary hugs and/or backrubs, and we're all a little giddy with how busy the place is. I might get double sat and need my food on the fly to get out of the jam faster, so I'll blow kisses to the head chef, who if he has time, will flirt back more outrageously.
I keep a picture of my son in my book, and as I was organizing my cash and receipts, a male server came next to me and saw the picture. He was surprised and asked me how old I was, and I told him I just turned 31 and he had a kind of crude comment about being a milfhunter. I didn't know what to say, so I smacked him on the ass hard with a towel, and he thanked me, and then a nearby busser asked me "When do I get my spanking, Mama?".
This is the most sexualized workplace I have ever been in, and I worked as the lone female in a car dealership service drive before this. Even the main manager does it. That story is actually kind of icky, and I'm still trying to wipe that one out of my brain. I'm glad next weekend is my last weekend working there. I was going home feeling groped, with a red ass from spankings, not what I expected!

Geez louise! Dam.... I would not feel comfortable in that environment. I guessing people at your workplace consider touching as innocent flirting. Ehhh... well hopefully it doesn't get explicit, but the "spank me" comments are just getting kinda of creepy. That place sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, I'm as open minded to flirting as anyone but that kind of atmosphere is dangerous for a workplace.
