I'm so, so ready for a vacation. I've been so busy lately, and so much is happening and it's really weighing me down now. I can handle a lot of pressure, but right now it's so much that I need a break before I crack.

I've pulled all-nighters at least one day every week since the start of this semester, and I'm currently on my second all-nighter this week. The power in my dorm went out several times yesterday, when I was desperately trying to get my work done, and left me without enough...

In reading about the recent events involving Rihanna and Chris Brown, an upsetting number of (mostly male) people have been expressing the idea that women, especially black women, who are abused are deserving of it. I can't even begin to understand the mindset of people like these, and it really makes me afraid for the future of humanity. NO woman, or man, deserves to be a victim of domestic abuse.

WHEW, I have been SO busy over the past week or so. I made a 54-piece colour chart with tints, shades, and true hues of the 6 primary and secondary colours, and a greyscale. I also have been working on my current 3D Design project, which is creating a wasp-head knight's helmet out of paper and glue. That one is FUN!

I haven't had much time to be on MSN or on here, so apologies if it seems like I've been ignoring people. After this week it'll get better, since this is midterms....

The RD and RA approved me for a room change, and no peer mediation will be necessary. Now I just have to talk to the RD this week and see when and where I'm going to move!

I've recorded myself playing a couple of songs on the viola, and went ahead and uploaded them to YouTube. The first one is the Overworld theme from Final Fantasy VI, and the second one is "Across the Stars," Anakin and Padmé's love theme from Star Wars Episode II.

My roomie is a lard-ass slob, and I'm sick of her. SO SO sick of her. I've had to put up with her for a whole semester already, and I'm DONE with it. She said she was gonna move out and then she didn't, and so I missed the deadline to switch roommates. But now...I'm over it. And I am going to the RA and RD office first thing on Monday, after I'm out of class.

I've bought ALL the toilet paper since we have been back. Somehow we've managed to go through 10 or 12 rolls of it in three...

It's 3:30 a.m. and I can't sleep. It's been like that for a few days now. My roomie just woke up, rolled over, and said something like "Every damn night! Emily, just go to sleep!" in a really pissy voice.

I'm pissing her off, big-time.

I don't complain to her about anything. She has the TV on whenever she's here and awake, has friends over all the time, listens to whatever music she wants WITHOUT headphones, NEVER buys any supplies, etc. I use headphones...

I just made an Asian-inspired lamp out of nothing but spaghetti, hot glue, and rice paper. Behold!

I love Star Wars. My dad first showed me A New Hope when I was, oh, four years old. I was hooked instantly. Since then, I have seen every incarnation of all of the Star Wars films, new and old. I've read several of the post-Return of the Jedi novels but felt the newer ones were deviating so far from the original story that they all just lost the magic that George Lucas gave to the original stories. I really enjoyed the Jedi Academy trilogy, however.

An amazing performance of Pantera's song "Cowboys from Hell," performed by Rachel Barton Pine on violin and Mike Block on cello. AMAZING! I actually got to do a master class with Mrs. Barton Pine about 2 years ago, and she is simply amazing. Beautiful, down to earth, sweet, and by far one of the better violinists I've heard.
