If I Had A Million Dollars

So I watched the new series "The Secret Millionaire." I had a hard time holding back the tears. Some of the wealthiest multi millionaires go out into America as regular Americans and search for the people that deserve some help financially. These people they search out will volunteer their time, energy, finances, etc... to help other people. Last night was a trip to a Katrina area that was totally demolished. The people that received money were truly angels. I wonder what drives them to only think of others instead of themselves. They would build a house for their neighbors before they build for themselves. It was truly amazing.

I wonder what would I do if I was a multi millionaire. I know I would have to give some of that money away. I would help some kids through college. I would seek out a few people that need help. Some rich keep their money to themselves. But, I believe that if people helped you make that million dollars, you should give back to the community in some way.

Last night they gave away $300,000-$100,000 to three groups of people. To see the looks on their faces was priceless. It was hardly anything financially to the multi millionaires, but just the joy of giving that money must have been so fulfilling. I'm sure they will go back outside of that show and give more. I could just tell by the way they acted. I would feel bad if I had all that money and saw people suffering and in need of just a little help. I still can't believe that after years, Katrina people are still suffering. What has become of this country?

If I had a million dollars, here's how I would spend:

10% charity
50% savings
30% living expenses
10% trust for my children

I was wonering how others would spend their money.
