I had a bad day today. I dropped my daughter at school and ran errands, then picked her up and ran more errands. All the while it's raining and cold. More people are out than usual I suppose because of the upcoming holiday. The traffic was bad and I was in a hurry. The pharmacy didn't have my script ready because of a problem with insurance. It was just a frustrating day. But I did have a bright spot.

Standing in line at the store, my daughter and I were waiting for our turn....

My birthday was a week ago today, and my husband and daughter took me to dinner the night before to celebrate. The kids get crayons and a coloring book at this restaurant, so my daughter dived into making a masterpiece. The tables are covered with white paper that the kids can color on also, which she did.

During the dinner she drew different little pictures for me as my birthday gift. She would secretly draw each one making sure I couldn't see her art until she was ready to reveal...

...a really great, snort-producing, can't-catch-my-breath, making-no-sound belly laugh! You know, the kind where you laugh so hard, you're cryin'.

I need to play Scrabble with my friends back in Indy again. We used to have some really great laughs making fun of each other while we were playing the game and trying to spell something good to win the game! Kathy and I used to make fun of Julia because she always cheated and then played it off when we called her out about it!!!!! ...

My daughter, who is five, cried to go with me to the polling place to watch me vote. I explained we would be in line for a long time. She agreed to be patient, and she was. Here she is as we are standing in line in the vestibule of the church. She is holding my voter's registration card. As the line moved up over the next 15 minutes or so, we finally entered the sanctuary of the church. She tugged my arm as she looked up to me, and whispered, "Mama". "Yes, Darlin", I replied....

My daughter, who is five, says some of the greatest stuff.

Yesterday, out of the blue she said, "Mom, I want to be a Princess and kiss a frog."

I didn't have the heart to tell her she would probably be kissing a lot of them....

I was sitting at a red light this morning and saw vanity plates on the car just ahead of me in the left lane. The plates read, AZN TOY. Well, I pulled up to see who was driving thinking it might be an asian guy. lol.

But, to my surprise it was an older woman with gray hair! Then I realized she was driving a Toyota Camry! LMAO!!!
