Its funny how being close to death, be it surviving a close encounter or witnessing the death of a loved one can actually remind you of how precious life really is.

I guess its no surprise that such an event can really wake us up from the repetition of our lives and gives us an excuse to 'check out' of everyday life for a moment, and if we're lucky that one moment can offer us a whole new breath of fresh air.
