It's astonishing. Truly, it is. One of the greatest secrets in life has been clarified for me. Ladies, I'm doing my sisterly duty and sharing this latest epiphany with you.
Men are universally assholes.
What causes them to be?
Their ethnicities and nationalities have nothing to do with their level of immaturity. While it could be argued that certain cultures tend to rear more boneheads then others, even that can be generally overlooked. In the case of nature versus nurture, I propose that both come into play but ultimately aren't sole determining factors. Physiologically speaking, males are naturally programmed to be concerned more with reproductive impulses than females. Yet, their upbringing can either emphasize or deemphasize the basic human impulse to fuck. (Notice, the key word is "human." We women, and I especially include myself in this, are easly over taken by our own lust.) Essentially, men are jerks purely due to one unsuspected fact.
It's so simple we often overlook it or attribute men's negative behavior to the above mentioned excuses. Now this is where the secret I have learned of becomes so vital.
Ladies, men are assholes, because they CHOOSE to be.
See? Isn't that easy? Isn't it enlightening?
For centuries we have pondered the logic behind male chauvinists, abusers, liars, and cheaters. Some of our sharpest female intellects have fairly given themselves brain anorisms over that paradox. All we had to do this whole time was put aside our emotional baggage and the misconception that the path to jerkdom was complex.
Nope.
Basic human nature.
Free will.
On this same level, men can CHOOSE to be kind-hearted, loving, and loyal. They can be genuinely good people. (Although, personally, I add there remains the tendency of the penis getting in the way...) Perhaps, when we cross the paths of such kind individuals, our hopes in finding better romantic and platonic prospects are renewed.
After all, in fairness, women can be downright bitches just as much as men can be bastards.

I don't know, I reserve my right to be a complete bitch when the urge strikes, so it'd be rather hypocritical of me to jump on a guy who gets the urge to be a complete bastard.

If a person is drawn to enough assholes/bitches, the problem isn't the people you're meeting. It may not even be a problem with one's own self in wondering why they're drawn to them automatically. It's just a matter of learning a few things in life. Even if you already know it, there's always some small detail you can learn.
