Y'all know I'm cheap, right? I try my best not to pay full price for anything I buy. I use rebates, look for sales, live on eBay, and clip coupons.

One of my proudest moments was getting $30.00 worth of groceries for $2.06. (I'm hardcore, yo!)

I don't always buy Sunday papers since all I really want is the coupons. My neighbors, who are not using the coupons (and always complain about the prices of things they buy!)...

Ugh. $300 down the drain! I love my family, I really do. But God save me from poorly planned family reunions.

I could have put the money I wasted into my savings account.

I also don't want to spend any more time with my parents. The venom and bile they spew towards each other is hard to watch. They even do that in front of other people now! If I truly hated my husband that much, I'd leave. I am so glad to be home and away from all that negativity.

Starboy was a little bummed since my parents left to go home yesterday. (He is the only one sad to see them go home, but that's a story for another blog!) The bodega around the corner is selling fake Pokemon cards! We play the trading card game (and own all the Pokemon video games) so I am always on the lookout for new cards.

Starboy asked me for a dollar. I asked him what he wanted it for and he told me about the Pokemon cards. I asked him was he sure that 1 pack was a dollar; I know for a fact that those things are usually 4 dollars a pack. I sent him around the corner with the dollar. When he came back, I knew they were fake....

They had to bring my eldest son home, so they basically decided to disrupt my household for a week. I love my parents, but I love them more at a distance!

But the beautiful thing is that here on my home turf, I can always leave when Mom's conversations turn into "I hate your father" rants. These are 2 grown ass people who stayed together for 47 years! How ridiculous is it for my mother to literally shoot daggers from her eyes when my father passes by? He could care...

Am I a weirdo because I don't drive?

Every time I am around my relatives, they ask me this same question:

So, when are you going to learn how to drive?

My answer, as always, is Never. They seem so horrified and perplexed by this answer. I am 36 years old and I have never had the inclination to even want to learn how to drive. I have no burning desire to get behind the wheel of anything. I just don't, you know?

My elderly neighbors called me over yesterday. I consider them the grandparents I wish I had, so their wish is my command. They want to get a cat to get rid of the mice that they have in their house. Being the only person they know with cats, they wanted my opinion.

I tried to impress upon them the pros and cons of having a cat. However, getting a cat would not work for them. They have mice because they are serious packrats who haven't thrown out anything since I was 10 years...

I got a Nintendo DS and now I am addicted to Word Jong. I can't stop playing this game! I'm playing it and typing this blog at the same time.

I don't like to think of myself as an overly competitive person. However, my obsession with beating the computer's high score says otherwise.

I have survived my trip to SC. My oldest son is with my parents for the summer and I have some peace.

I realized early on that my mother is determined to be miserable in her life and she wants me to be miserable about it as well. As soon as she started in on the annual "I hate your father" speech, I just tune out.
