Mentally challenged aka retarded, now we are supposed to say intellectually handicapped.
Whatever... anyway, at my new job at the hospital I eat lunch with some below average intelligence adults.
I don't know what it is about me but children, animals, elderly and mentally challenged people seem to be drawn to me.
So, I sit with two ladies and we talk about their work . I don't treat them like there is something wrong with them. We talk and laugh.
Well... this woman sees me taking my tray to dump and she says "Let me get that for you". I told her I had it and she told me she wanted to help so I don't drop it. She had a stupid ass grin on her face.....she thought I was retarded!
Andymillman is going to let me borrow his 'special ribbon' for work next time.

That's too funny! You know what, though? I would milk that for all it's worth. I'm betting the "challenged" (or whatever we're supposed to say these days) people get all kinds of perks that those of us with more average capabilities don't get, so hell yeah, I'd be riding that train as far as I could!!
