Netbooks

i never Thought about getting a netbook until recently.
I had alway consider them not to be of any use to myself as a video editor and music editor. However I've recently considered a netbook and I bought one on ebay for around 200$. Its not a bad invest at all really. I don't think I can use it for more than basic editing and chatting. I got one because in my line of work I'll be skyping alot online with clients and my boss. If I happen to have my netbook stolen by some one it wont be as big a loss at my $1,000 tablet pc. I feel rich owning more than one computer or even just one. I'm pretty thankful i've been given the opportunity to obtain a netbook.
Some of the Pros to a netbook That i've found vs desktops and laptops are
Portable size
Longer battery life (6 cell battery)
Lower weight
Powerful enough to handle email and web chatting.
Some cons are
Not able to do muti-task operations like
Sony vegas and adobe photoshop cs3 (But what do you expect from an atom processor?)
Lag with some video watching from HDD
Low screen resolution 1024x576 or 600. (( There are some newer models that actually go up to 720p. I think those are the lenovo s12s.))
Lack of a Cd-rom drive ((though you can buy an external one ))
Only 3 usb ports or on my lenovo 2 usb ports (but hey I got a pci express card slot in exchange for third usb port))
Crappy keyboard design and bad for typers ( i could care less though since i never learned how to "type"))
Standard HD.

All in all netbooks offer what they're pitching in my opinion.
Portablity at the cost of computer power and flexibility.
For only about 50-100$ more you can just get a standard laptop. If you're looking to get a computer I suggest getting a Laptop in the ultra portable category unless you really want something small for travel.
Good luck on your next computer purchase.
