San Francisco - Asian Art Museum May 4
The Asian Art museum will have free admission on the first Sunday of the month.
May 4 will be the first. They have some special demonstrations on this day to enhance the experience..
See Target Sundays

I visited the museum many years ago when it was in Golden Gate Park but haven't checked out the new location which is by Civic Center.

I'm planning to make it there for the opening at 10AM.

Let me know if anybody wants to meet up.

My office had their company winter party at the Asian a couple years ago. It is a lovely museum, definitely take advantage of the free admission. Have a good time guys!

Ah.. you mean like Tahoe partying?

Well, the museum entrance is free... I can make sure you don't go hungry if you make it.

Gas is expensive. Good thing I bike a lot instead of driving.

I was there a few weeks ago, two exhibits that really stood out was "On Gold Mountain" where sculptor Zhan Wang recreated San Francisco in a room out of stainless steel trays and utensils and serving ware. The other is the "Drama and Desire" paintings -- there's a room that's "for mature audiences" featuring some old school pr0n in a scroll. The artist even made the sperm and vaginal secretions out of shiny paint that is still glistening hundreds of years later.
