So, I just got back from the meet in South Carolina. It was awesome! I really loved meeting everyone. Those who were there were, Celtic, Chewie, GG, MSO, plus Erin and me. It was really fun. We went to the Scottish Fair, and saw some of the games, but it started storming before we could see too many. We did catch some dancing and sheep herding, which was awesome!
OK, and the burning question in everyone's mind....
Did Chewie wear a kilt??????????????
The answer is YES!!! He most certainly did.... And looked totally awesome!!!!!!! More of you should wear kilts. The precedent has been set.
But yeah, it was awesome, and I'm really glad I went up there. It was really great to meet everyone.
Pictures to come later. I didn't take any, because my ghetto camera ate its batteries, but everyone else took a ton, so there will be plenty to see within the next few days!!
*laughs* That's great, Nomad! I love the story behind it! Thanks for coming out - you're a pretty amazing woman...and your daughter is a real gem! I'll be sending you some pics of her soon (gonna catch up on some sleep today, I think).
Chew and GG are on the road to see Luvmy now, and Mso is on her flight ready to wing her way back home.
It was a grand weekend, and everyone was just as wonderful and funny as I expected them to be. Not a single ax murderer in the bunch, and I managed to survive without being cast into a shallow grave somewhere! *grin* Some of my local friends were giving me the stink-eye over meeting people from the "internet"...
I only hate that is was such a short visit - seemed like it was over way too fast.
And Nomad is bang-on about the kilt. Chew looked great in it - he wears it well! And he was getting a lot of female attention - even as we were walking out of the hotel.
I think he took to the kilt like a duck to water. And just so everyone knows, if any of the real deal Kilted Chewie's show up online, he's already said that he's going to claim that they are photoshopped pics. They will not be fakes...they will be real pics of Chewie in a real kilt. Nomad is our official guarantor of that fact - being a trusted mod and all. *smile*
