My Asian LoverGeneral Discussions. Community-related chit chat.
I think writing to Hollywood is good, but it won't change anything in Hollywood. Hollywood is run by white men, they could careless about Asian men or any other minorities unless you prove you can make money for them. They like the status quo where white men get all the positive roles. Why should they change if you are in their shoes?
The poster above is right. Asians need to make their own movies and tell our own stories from our perspective as human beings. Hollywood white writers will only write stereotypical roles for Asians. They won't do anything do change due to the current power structure.
China is getting more powerful economically. Chinese government knows the power of the media. This is why they only let 20 Hollywood movies into the country legally per year. China has to produce their own movie industry to rival Hollywood. We need more big budget Asian movies with Asian characters that have depth and emotions vs. stupid roles.
I wonder who runs Sony Pictures. Is it bunch of white men even through it is owned by the Japanese? It sure seems like it. I wonder if there is anyway we can write them to teach them the ugly stereotypical roles for Asians in Hollywood. I don't think most Asian men in Asia understand what Hollywood is doing to Asians in general with its stereotypes.
Either that, we need our own Asian American (not Asian) channel. It would be good for once to see more proud Asian Americans on TV that can be role models for the younger generation.
Still a new to bollywood my self, but im a romantic at heart and love the romance, dancing and singing even that no that one even kisses, ect . . still find it amasingly stimulating lol
Holy shit! you dudes pay too much attention to Hollywood crappy bullshits. Turn off the TV and get back to reality. And stop sending stupid emails to the Jews producers of Hollywood. That will only make them laugh.
Do you know that China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore have together more than 3000 billions $ as foreign exchange reserves ? Yes, more than three thousand billion of $ or 3,000,000,000,000 of $.
What the Asians should do is to ask their Asian home countries to shed a few dozens of billions of $ to buy all the Hollywood studios and networks owned by the Jews. After that you can have as much AM/AF, AM/WF, AM/LF or AM/XF representations in the media as you want.

Why do you have to beg Hollywood for something when the USA owes your home countries thousands of billions of $. Just buy them instead of begging them.
Sometimes, you need to think outside of the box. The fact that I don't live in the USA but in Europe and I don't give a rat's ass about Hollywood crappy bullshit gives me a clearer view of the situation.
This thread is degenerating into unrealistic fantasies about how “we can buy out the media”. I agree, we should start our own production companies, just like Spike Lee. I advocated we support Justin Lin, he independently financed Better Luck Tomorrow and Finishing the game. He also directed studio films: Annapolis and Fast & Furious 3.
The premise of this thread was very simple. Support any films and TV shows that cast Asian males in non stereotypical roles.
This is not just about getting laid or our women selling out. If the media is saturated with negative images, we become objects undeserving of respect.
Ignoring the media is NOT THE ANSWER!
Look at what the media did with Iraq. Did the Iraqi’s have WMD’s? Are they even related to Al Qaeda? Media vilifies Iraq for about 8 mths, next thing you know we’re bombing the hell out of them with 80% public approval.
Ever seen the WW2 propaganda against the Japanese? How did the Japanese end up in “internment camps” (more like concentration camps)? Media hyped it up for about 1year prior to moving them in. Wen Ho Lee in 1999, incarcerated in solitary confinement for 1 year but eventually dropped almost all charges. People were afraid of Chinese spies, Lee was Chinese, therefore he must be a spy right? This is the power of the media, it gives the politicians public approval to vilify us, to objectify us, and ultimately to hurt us.
Je Suis, i agree with everything you're saying. i think this entire forum focuses entirely on AM/WF way too much. loser guys on this forum have self inferiority issues.
I second you.
I fucking hate seeing those losers ask loser questions like "Why do non-asian women want to date asian guys?"; "What should I do to get a date with a white girl?"
Those fucking losers have self-inferiority issues and think asian guys don't deserve love from non-asian women. To be more accurate, those losers can't even earn love from asian women, not to mention non-asian women. There is also this overcompensating clown, who always puts down other asian guys and exaggerates how good his Beijinger fellas ( Beijing Shaige!@), but always gets group raped.

I think you place too much confidence on third party research which are often biased- regardless of their academic pedigree. Our president graduated from Yale and got his MBA from Harvard.
Keep in mind, that with statistics, one can prove either side of the coin of the same issue
You fall into the trap of finding research to support what you wanted to believe in the first place. I don't blame you, people have a tendency to do that because they want to be assured that they have been right all along.
why don't we do this. Post a link to a site displaying one of your favorite statistics, pie charts, or articles. And I'll tell you why I don't buy it.
Uhh duh? Don't you think I'm already cognizant of those factors?
And it's not just that - but the fact that there has been so much written about these issues (not only by academics, but by lay persons - in particular, AFs, so much discussed on talk shows, etc. - that they have reached a certain level of significance where terms are used to describe them ("banana", "twinkie", "potato chaser", etc.).
Btw, what exactly do you have to support your position besides your personal opinion?
