can we get a separate sub forum?

lately, it seems topics on racism, and overall the negative problems in society regarding asian men have been popping up more often.

these discussions tend to be more serious and heated, yet necessary so we can fully understand different viewpoints on topics that affect us as a group and society in general.

i think some of the members would like to browse the general forum without having to read about "negative issues". sometimes they'd like to read & post about the lighter and currently more positive aspects of asian men and culture. I.E. what type of asian food is best, which city's got the hottest asian dudes? Instead of, "NEW racist movie, let's email bomb the bastard!!"

i'm assuming, this forum is a place for people who love asian culture & men to congregate and share their views. Bashing down on the mass media and fighting the social oppressions and perceptions of asian men is an important issue, but should only be part of this site and not the focus. (there are other sites that are purely for the political organization of asian men,The Fighting 44s)

So, can we get a separate sub-forum?

If someone REALLY does not want to read that stuff he/she can just click into another thread.
But sometimes people feel urged to tell why they dislike a post or thread.
Why not hearing them too?
Sometimes the opposite viewpoints can make people learn from each other.
Generally you can also just post the very controversial stuff on the sites with that specific topic.

I am not for or against a new section, am kinda indifferent.

lady, he is on a mission...he has to broadcast it all over the place and he probably feels it is his rightful duty to do so. which is fine, i already told him that the delivery is the only thing he needs to work out and on.

I don't know his "mission", I just gave my input on his question. There are so many sites out there that he will find what he needs.

I think he maybe did not like what people said in his thread.

If someone posts stuff like that it's only a matter of time until people post controversial posts. If someone doesn't like controversial then he better looks out for an auditory more on his side.

lady, his mission is to shed light on the things that go unseen by the rest of society that is not considered a minority (specifically asian). he is trying to find a niche and spread the word. this site seems like a good target to him....because he obvisously thinks there are NO enlightened people here and that no one has ever posted anything about discrimination against asians (men).
