So, my second day, here, and I'm reading about the mixers. Reading your posts, those of you who came to this site before the sfgate deluge, both women and men, seem like people I would really enjoy hanging out with.
So my questions begin with this: are you, at any time, uncomfortable in certain public places when the group is comprised of a bunch of Asian dudes and non-Asian women? Really, if I saw a group like that at the local movie theater, I would do a double-take. Had I seen it before I knew about this site, I would lose sleep trying to figure out the probabilities of such a permutation appearing naturally. A tiny Carl Sagan would perch himself on my shoulder to keep me awake.
And if there are a lot of singles in the group, given the nature of this site, is the possibility of hooking-up always in the back of people's minds? I would say it would be on the minds of the dudes even if they're trying to play it like Han Dynasty eunuchs. Is it on the minds of women, too?
For the men, do you ever see other guys trying to alpha-male a get-together? Competitiveness is in our nature. Unchecked, it kills the mood of what should otherwise be a fun gathering. I've gotta say, though, that the reception I've received on this site from men and women alike has been great.
Pre-sfgate Bay Area fellas, you will be the most affected by the recent influx. Expect the next open event to be...what's the phrase being used lately...sausage-heavy.
